Introduction
development of characters, setting, and theme
Setting
the time and place of a story
Protagonist
the main character of a story
Antagonist
the character who creates conflict for the protagonist
Conflict
internal or external struggle (Person vs self, person vs person,etc)
Inciting Incident
beginning of the main conflict
Rising Action
events (crises) that lead up to the climax
Climax
point at which the main conflict is resolved
Falling Action
sequence of events that follow the climax and lead to the
conclusion
Conclusion
the end of the story, which often includes final actions or comments that tie the plot together
Point of View
the position from which the story is told (1st person, 3rd person, Omniscient)
Characterization
what a character says, does, thinks, and what others say about the character
