Plot
a secret plan or scheme to accomplish some purpose, especially a hostile, unlawful, or evil purpose
Narrative
a spoken or written account of connected events
Exposition
a comprehensive description and explanation of an idea or theory.
Rising Action
the section of the plot leading up to the climax, in which the tension stemming from the story’s central conflict grows through successive plot developments.
Climax
the most intense, exciting, or important point of something; a culmination or apex.
Comedy
a storytelling genre that uses laughter and humor in order to entertain and amuse.
Falling Action
the period of time in a story that follows the climax and leads to the resolution.
Denotation
The literal or primary meaning of a word, in contrast to the feelings or ideas that the word suggests.
in medias res
into the middle of a narrative.
flashbacks
is a vivid experience in which you relive some aspects of a traumatic event or feel as if it is happening right now.
foreshadowing
be a warning or indication of (a future event).
suspense
a state or feeling of excited or anxious uncertainty about what may happen.
tragedy
an event causing great suffering, destruction, and distress, such as a serious accident, crime, or natural catastrophe.
resolution
a firm decision to do or not to do something.
conflicts
a serious disagreement or argument, typically a protracted one.
Setting
the place or type of surroundings where something is positioned or where an event takes place.
