What is a plot?
the arrangement of events in a narrative

The person telling the story
What is conflict?
The tension, that drives the plot
What is exposition?
the informational background told to readers about the characters, plot, setting, and situation.
What is rising action?
the events, marked by increasing tension, that builds up to a story’s climax
What is climax?
The point in the story when the conflict reaches the highest intensity
What is suspense?
A device that creates tension to make the plot more exciting
What is a comedy?
A story to create the reason to make people laugh
What is a tragedy?
A series of dramatic or bad things that the protagonists experiences in the story
What is a falling action?
Result of the climax or turning point in the story
What is a denouement?
Conflict has been resolved “Resolution”
What is a resolution?
Working out the plots problems following the climax
What is a in medias res?
“In the middle of things”- technique used in the middle of the action
What is flashbacks?
The scene in narrative that is set in a earlier time than the main action
What is foreshadowing?
The device in which future events are hinted at
