What is a protagonist?
The main character.
What is a antagonist?
A character in the story who opposed the protagonist
What is a coming-of-age story or bildungsroman?
A story that explores the maturation of the protagonist, usually from childhood to adulthood
What is a epiphany?
visionary moment when a character has a sudden insight that changes their understanding of themselves or their comprehension of the world
What is a round character?
A character who exhibits a range of emotions and who evolves over the course of the story
What is flat character?
a character who embodies only one or two traits and lacks character development
What is a stock character?
A character based on stereotype
What is a direct characterization?
Narrator telling who the character is by describing the background, motivation, temperament, or appearance of the character.
What is an indirect characterization?
Author shows rather than tells us what the character is like through what they think, do, say, or what others say about the character
