What is Plot?
The arrangement of events, which almost always includes conflict, and develops with the exposition, rising action, climax, falling action, and lastly the denouement.
What is climax?
The part of the story that occurs when the conflict is now at the highest intensity.
What is conflict?
The tension that can create a plot. This usually happens between the protagonist and the antagonist.
What is comedy?
This is usually used as a dramatic effect. This has a very light, amusing, and funny plot.
What is denouement?
This is showing that the conflict has been resolved, and is the lowest point of the story.
What is exposition?
This is the background information that is given to the readers.
What is falling action?
This is right after the climax. This is the conflict starting to be resolved, but not yet the lowest point.
What is flashback?
This is where the story shows an earlier time.
What is foreshadowing?
This hints at certain events that may happen in the future.
What is in medias res?
This is an example of being in the middle of things. The story usually begins in the middle of the action.
What is narrative?
The story.
What is resolution?
This is the working out the plots conflict.
What is rising action?
This is the events that are increasing tension and conflict.
What is setting?
This is where and when the story takes place.
What is suspense?
This makes the plot more exciting, and only gives a selective dissemination of information.
