- Have the fulcrum at the far end and are used similar to a nutcracker

- These pliers have an angled edge which allows them to cut through material such as thick wire. - Due to their strength they can also be used to cut nails.

- Designed to compress hose and spring clamps

A
- Elongated nose which allows more precision - Contains a cutting edge near the base - Can be used for bending, shaping and cutting wire

Slip joint pliers
A
- Closely related to adjustable wrenches. - They have an adjustable fulcrum to alter the width of the jaws - Many variants have notches for the fulcrums bolt to slip into when the jaws are open to lock the pliers in a certain width.

Tongue and groove pliers
A
- A type of adjustable pliers with a toothed groove along the upper handle allowing the lower jaw to be locked into a number of positions. - The angled jaws make it easier to turn nuts and bolts

A
- Pliers that can be locked into place
- Often used when more torque is needed to pry or remove or where added grip is required for holding objects in place.
