What is unoccupied play?
Plays with his or hers own body e.g. pulling at toes
What is onlooker play?
Looking at others play but does not join in
What is solitary play?
Plays with toys at a distance from others
What is parallel play?
Plays with toys close beside others
What is associate play?
Engage in some common play activities
What is co-operative play?
Engage in some highly organised group activity
What are some stages of play?
Solitary- till 1mths, Parallel- 18mths till 2.5 years, Associative- from 2.5 years, Co-operative- 3 years, Competitive- age 6 onwards
