Q

What supports the theory of plate tectonics?

A
  1. Seafloor spreading (we can see continents moving apart)
  2. Fossil records
  3. Shifting plates (that causes earthquakes, volcanoes, and mountain building)

Q

What factor would cause more harmful plate movement/waves to the earth? (Not increasing the movement, but increase the damage done?)

A

If you have hard ground, plate movement passes through easier- but soft ground there is more damage done from waves (earthquake)
soft materials- it jars up and down more. along the shore line it takes more damage, softer ground.
