Plants, bacteria, and animal cells Flashcards
What type(s) of cells have chloroplasts?
Plant cells
What type(s) of cells have a nucleus?
Plant and animal cells
What type(s) of cells have DNA?
ALL cells
What type(s) of cells have a cell wall?
Plant and bacteria cells
Where is the cell wall located?
OUTSIDE the cell membrane.
What type(s) of cells have a cell membrane?
ALL cells
What are two differences between plant and animal cells?
Plant cells have a cell wall and chloroplasts; animal cells do not have these cell parts
True or false: bacterial cells have a nucleus.
False
True or false: bacterial cells have DNA.
True
Why don’t animal cells have chloroplasts?
Animal cells are designed to get energy from food (remember, animals are consumers). Therefore, they do not need chloroplasts, which are used to trap energy from the sun. Animal cells CANNOT get energy from the sun.
