A
water carrying tubes transport water and minerals from the roots, then to the stem to the other parts of the plant

A
transports food (sugar) made in the leaves to the different parts of the plant

What happens when the water carrying tubes are removed
A
water cannot be transported. Without water, the leaves cannot photosynthesise and will die. Other parts of the plant will dry up and die too.

no food can be transported to the roots and will cause swelling. the roots will die due to lack of food
