Process of fertilisation
A
- Pollen lands on the stigma
- The pollen goes down the style and into the ovary
- The nucleus of a male sex cell moves down the tube to join with a female sex cell inside an ovule
- Fertilisation is when the two nuclei join

Seed formation
A
- Seeds are formed from ovules. Each seed contains a dormant (inactive) embryo plant.
- The embryo plant has a food store which it uses when conditions are right- when it starts to grow (germinate)
- The ovary develops into a fruit around the seed. Fruits can tempt animals to eat them and scatter their seeds in feaces.
