Test for starch in leaf
A
. Leave leaf in dark (destarch it)
. Cover half of leaf with tinfoil
. Leave under light for 2-3 days
. Cut leaf from plant, and another from a variegated plant
. Dip leaves in boiling water (stop chemical reactions from happening)
. Place leaves into separate boiling tubes. Pour enough alcahol to cover each leaf in
. Put tubes in beaker of boiling water
. Remove leaves, then dip in cold water to soften them
. Place leaves on white tile and add iodine to each leaf
. If iodine is present it turns blue/black
