What does INSPOORT stand for?

Individual Needs, Specificity, Progressive Overload, Overtraining, Reversibility, Thresholds of training
What is Individual Needs?
Training is specific to the individual
What is Specificity?
Training must be relevant to the individual and their sport
What is Progressive Overload?
Gradually increasing the training frequency, intensity, time, type (FITT), to ensure that the body is pushed beyond its normal rythm.
What is overtraining?
Doing too much (without rest) so could get injured
What is reversibility?
When you are injured or not playing and cant train so your body loses the adaptations of training
What are thresholds of training?
Aerobic Target (60%-80% of maximum heart rate)
Anaerobic Target 80%-90% of maximum heart rate)
What is FITT?
Frequency, Intensity, Time, Type
