When people use their leisure time for enjoyment or pleasure and do not stay overnight eg. day trips

There are 8 within NI covering 26% of the land.

This is an area in the countryside that is considered to have landscape of significant value.
Why is AONB used?
It is used to conserve and enhance the natural beauty of an area, whilst allowing people to use it.
What must the development proposals in AONBs be?
They must be sensitive to the distinctive character of the area with a particular reference to the quality of the landscape, heritage and wildlife.
