What are the do’s and don’ts of determining frequency of treatment?

A
  • Do consider intrinsic factors (age, condition) and extrinsic factors (schedule, distance to clinic)
  • Don’t consider your own schedule as a factor!
  • More is not always better
  • Therapy doesn’t have to be forever
  • Everyone needs to be on same page about goals and expectations.

Q

What is the main concept of Progression?

A

Know when a task has become easy and more challenge is necessary. If they have several successful attempts over several sessions or less fatigued, then challenge them more.
-How do you do that? Introduce more difficult tasks and provide variations of the same task. Alter the environment, decrease physical assistance, or increase repetitions, distances, or time.
