What does an architect do?
The architect advises the client and the team on the design of the house.
What does an architect produce?
The architect produces plans for the buildings, applications for services and contracts between the client and themselves.
What responsibilities does the architect have?
The architect has the following responsibilities:-
Applying for planning permission.
Advises the client on design solutions.
Advises the client on selecting the team.
Advises on completion and handover
Advises on risks and solutions to defective work.
What does an Engineer do?
An Engineer focuses on the structural design and stability of the building and development.
What does an Engineer produce?
An Engineer applies for planning permission, completes risk assessments for the project, and finds solutions to load problems.
What are the responsibilities of an Engineer?
Engineers prepare applications for sewers, they advise the client and the architect, they advise on completion and handover, and provide drawings and records.
What does a Civil Engineer do?
Civil Engineers focus on drainage systems, road construction, ground investigation and foundation solutions.
What does a Quantity Surveyor do?
A Quantity Surveyor is referred to as a cost consultant. They are responsible for the procurement and appointment of specialist builders and contractors.
What responsibilities does a Quantity Surveyor have?
The Quantity Surveyor completes the contracts with the contractors, they attend project meetings and look at the risks of the project. They also pay the contractor.
What does a Quantity Surveyor produce?
The Quantity Surveyor produces cash flow forecasts, risk assessments, monthly budget updates, invoices and payslips.
What does a Project Manager do?
A Project Manager works for the client and runs the project on a day to day basis. They are responsible for the delivery of the project.
What does a Project Manager produce?
They produce progress reports for the client and GANNT charts. They work to KPI’s.
What are the responsibilities of a Project Manager?
The Project Manager represents the client and ensures they are protected during the project. They ensure the project is on time and budget. They ensure Health and Safety of the project and meet with the builders and manage the handover of the project.
What does a Designer do?
The designer represent a vision of the clients aspirations for the build. Designers will look at kitchens, windows, doors and the building as a whole.
What do designers produce?
They produce 3D and 4D designs for the client.
What responsibilities does a Designer have?
A Designer monitors health and safety, looking at regulations of furniture. They attend meetings and site inspections.
