What is the purpose of planning?
To create a clear, concise path of goals, steps, and actions in order to lead to the final product.
What are the 5 steps in the Project Management Process?
1) Initiation
2) Planning/Development
3) Production, Preparation, or Execution
4) Monitoring and Controlling
5) Closing or Follow Up
What is planning?
~ The process of thinking of or forecasting the future in order to achieve desired goals
~ The creation of documents and diagrams that clearly outline the desired end product and the defined steps to get there
What are the 3 main constrictions to consider when planning?
1) Scope - the range or extent of the project
2) Time - the duration of the project
3) Cost - the price of the project, also may be known as the budget
What are logistics?
The flow of goods.
What is the most efficient and effective communication method?
Meetings!!
What are the meeting minutes?
The written record of what was discussed, and more importantly, the outcome or desired actions resulting from the meeting
What are the usual steps to a meeting?
Usual steps of a meeting:
1) Plan - use the agenda as a planning tool
2) Circulate the meeting agenda in advance
3) Run the meeting - keep control, agree outcomes, actions and responsibilities, take notes
4) Write and circulate notes - especially actions and accountabilities
