C6 – trachea and oesophagus begins
T1 – sternoclavicular joint
T2 – suprasternal notch
T4 – arch of aorta, bifurcation of trachea (carina)
T9 – xipisternal joint
L1 – 9th costal cartilage, splenic vein transverses behind pancreas, neck of pancreas
L2 – renal veins,
L3 – umbilicus
L4 – iliac crest, bifurcation of abdominal aorta into left and right common iliac veins
