A

Where students cluster in areas and regions, there is usually a number of pubs and local corner shops distributing alcohol. Results in high crime high rate with high antisocial behaviour. For example Selly Oak in Birmingham which is a city home to over 35,000 students.

A

Where people from different religions and ethnicities live in close proximity of each other, may forms enclaves. This may become negative as some people become segregated, for example in Birmingham 53% of the population are white British.

Brain drain/Ageing population

A

Llandudno, here all young people are moving away as there are no job opportunities other than tourism. This means the majority of people living their are elderly, but tourism is creating higher house price, The Welsh government has introduced double council tax for second homes in certain areas.

Gentrification -

A

This is when rich people buy previously deindustrialised areas and spend money doing up the houses and areas. Meaning the house prices will go up. So social stratification occurs. (a society’s categorization of its people into rankings of socioeconomic tiers based on factors like wealth, income, race, education, and power.) Meaning services will improve E.G Ladywood Birmingham.
