Compressor powered by a turbine spinning from exhaust gas flow.
How is the amount of boost controlled in a turbo?
Waste ate controls the speed of the turbine powering the turbo
What is a waste gate?
Butterfly valve controlling gas flow through the turbocharger turbine to control the amount of boost output.
What controls the waste gate?
The waste gate controller which is sensitive to throttle position an d ambient conditions.
What is the definition of critical altitude with regard to power augmentation and super/turbocharging?
The point at which the turbocharger cannot sustain the required amount of boost.
