Nonpharm therapy PW
A
- Wash sheets, pajamas, towel, underwear, etc. daily
- Open blinds/curtains
- Morning showers
- Disinfect toilet sheets
- Vacuum
- Close-fitting clothes when sleep
- Wash hands
- Nail- wash under and keep trim
- Natural product use is not supported by evidence

Pharm therapy PW
A
• Pyrantel pamoate
o Refer <25lb
o Treat entire family
o Consult physician: repeat in 2 weeks if symptoms do not resolve

Pyrantel Dose
A
o Dose based on weight (11mg/kg max 1 g)
o Do not use in pregnant women or pts with liver disease

UTI Phenazopyridine
A
o AZOStandard o Painful – if left untreated bacteria may make its way up to the kidney may give AZO to treat symptoms, but REFER to a physician for antibiotics o Interferes with the dip stick o Masks infection o Turns urine orange

UTI Cranberry
A
o Treat and prevent UTI
o May block bacteria from adhering to walls of bladder, kidney and urethra
o Regular use may increase risk of kidney stones

UTI Uva Ursi

o Urinary antiseptic o Diuretic o Dosage forms: tea, liquid extract, tincture, tablets/capsules o Take with food o Dose dependent on dosage form o Take no longer than 1 week
