Gaja started bottling under Langhe DOC in 1996
Returned to the DOCG for the three single vineyard wines with the 2013 vintage.
Why did Gaja start bottling Costa Russi, Sori Tilden, and Sori San Lorenzo under the Langhe DOC label?
They thought the wines would be better with Barbera blended in. Thus, they could no longer be labeled with the DOCG which required 100% Nebbiolo

What is the story behind Cà d’Morissio Riserva?
Mauro Monprivato created this wine by taking cuttings from the top-performing vines in their Monprivato vineyard that his father planted in the late 50’s and early 60’s and propagated these vines in what he felt was the top site in their Monprivato vineyard. After this wine is aged he bottles some as Monprivato and saves some that he ages longer for this Riserva. This is considered one of the greatest wines from the Langhe and typically less than 4,000 bottles are produced and note every year.

Who produces Vite Talin? What’s the story?
Luciano Sandrone
Produced from propagated cuttings of a unique vine in a vineyard he inherited by an old farmer in Barolo named Natale or “Talin”. Luciano identified in the 80s that clusters were small and scraggly and deeply colored. For many years he wanted to produce a Barolo from this but couldn’t because genetic DNA identification wasn’t advanced enough to confirm it was Nebbiolo, but in 2017 this was confirmed and the first Vite Talin was released (2013) in 2019 as Barolo DOCG.
