Normal mesothlial cells

19

20
Q

What does the image show?

A

Carcinoma

21
Q

What does the image show?

A

Bile pigment attacked by macrophages

22
Q

What does the image show?

A

Septic exudate from equine peritoneal fluid - can see large protozoa (commensal in cow/equine gut)

23
Q

What does the image show?

A

Enterocentesis - tap into gut. Looks very similar to septic exudate in equine peritoneal fluid!!

  • very few cells
  • protozoa
  • plant material
24
Q

Which structure is indicated by the bold line? When should you be careful to avoid this?

A

Infraorbital foramen. Palpate and move bundle away before making caudal oblique incision for upper canine extraction.

25
Q

Which structure is indicated by the bold line? When should you be careful to avoid this?

A

Mental foramen. Avoid when making vertical release incision for mandibular premolar extractions.

26
Q

Which structure is indicated by the double line? When should you be careful to avoid this?

A

Parotid duct and papilla. Be careful when making distal release incision for surgical extraction of 4th PM.

27
Q

Which structure does the arrow indicate?

A

Parotid papilla above distal root of maxiallary 4th PM

28
Q

What does the image show?

A

Feline tooth resorption

29
Q

What does each of the pointers in the image show?

A
30
Q

What does the image show?

A

Type 1 resorption. Focal lesion, periodontal ligament still intact around root

31
Q

What does the image show?

A

Type 2 resorptive lesion - partial loss of periodontal ligament or parital root resorption. Can usually be treated with crown extraction with intential root retention

32
Q

What does the image show?

A

Infected retained root remnant

33
Q

What does the image show?

A

Tooth resorption in dogs - only extract if supra-gingival or has communication with the oral cavity. If no signs of pain or inflam and only subgingival can be left in.
