Q
How does the SAM system work
A
- Detecting Stress: When something stressful happens, your brain (the hypothalamus) sends a signal to the body to get ready.
- Adrenaline Release: This signal goes to the adrenal glands (above the kidneys), which release adrenaline into the blood.
- Body’s Response: Adrenaline makes your heart beat faster, sends more blood to your muscles, and gets you ready to either fight the danger or run away.
- Calming Down: Once the stress is over, your body calms down and goes back to normal, thanks to the parasympathetic system.
