Fat Hydrolysis Testing

Media: Spirit Blue Agar

Enzyme: Lipase

Reaction: Triglycerides–>lipase–>glycerol + fatty acids

Fatty acids decrease pH, which causes a dark blue precipitate, glycerol droplets may also be present.
