Duke Criteria for IE
1.Predisposing heart condition

4.Immunologic phenomena (glomerulonephritis, Roth spots)
5. Positive blood culture
Strep. sanguinis?
- same as Viridans streptococci
- MCC of IE in: damaged native heart valves or dental procedures
Tx of IE w. Cardiobacterium hominis
- Part of HACEK organisms; gram neg bacteria
- 3rd gen cephalosporins (Ceftriaxone)
IE with S. gallolyticus associated with:
Underlying colorectal cancer
Pathogen of IE assoc. with healthcare IE
S. aureus
Pericarditis has increased risk for:
Cardiac tamponade
IVDU with fever, night sweats, weakness and TR murmur
Right side IE
Complication of right side IE
Septic pulmonary embolism

MCC of acute pericarditis
