Physics Reflection Flashcards
Laws of reflection
Ray of incidence . Normal, ray of reflection all lie on the same plain
Angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflection
Reflection
Light bounces off an object and this reflection of light enters the eye, it stimulates retina and cause optic nerve to inform brain of object you are seeing
Real image
Caused by actual intersection of light
Virtual image
Caused by apparent intersection of light
Parralaz
Avoid in experiments; different in apparent positions of an object viewed along 2 different lines of sight
Concave mirror formula
If real image - 1/u + 1/v = 1/f
If virtual image - 1/u -1/v = 1/f
Magnification in relation to u & v formulae
M = v height / u height
M is always positive
Convex mirror formulae
1/u - 1/v += -1/f
