Physics Quiz 2 Flashcards

1
Q

Q

What is the first Thermal Dynamic Law

A

When heat flows to or from a system, the system gains or loses an amount of heat that is equal to the heat transferred. (Energy cannot be created or destroyed in an isolated system)

Q

What is the second Thermal Dynamic Law

A

Heat never flows spontaneously from cold to hot. It ALWAYS flows from Hot to Cold if no work is done on it.

Q

Who was Pascal

A

discovered that pressure is constant. A change in pressure at any point in an enclosed fluid at rest will transmit equally to all points in fluid
