Physics, Monitoring, Anesthesia Delivery Devices Flashcards
How are the gases analyzed?
N2O, CO2, and halogenated use IR.
O2 and N2 use paramagnetic analyzer.
PaO2 electrode is called?
PaCO2 ?
pH ?
PaO2 = Clark electrode PaCO2 = Severinghaus electrode pH = Sanz electrode
A dampened a line could be from:
Obstruction, air, kink, low pressure bag
Resonance in an a line is caused by what? What parameters are changed?
Long tubing will cause.
Overestimates systolic, underestimates diastolic, but MAP is unchanged.
Transducer height will alter systolic in what way?
1.36cm = 1 mmHg
So 7 cm will change pressure by 10mmHg
How would an air bubble change your ABG values?
Air has about 160mmHg O2 and no CO2. So equilibrium would raise your PaO2 (unless already above 160) and lower your PaCO2
Oxygen tank contains when full:
660L at 1900psi
Full nitrous tank reads:
Psi of 745 and has 1590L. Psi won’t change until 75% gone.
