Physics Forces Revision Flashcards
What Is Weight?
A force on an object due to the gravitational pull on another object.
What Is Air Resistance
A resistive Force due to the collision with air particles which always happens in the opposite direction of motion
What is friction?
A resistive force due to two surfaces rubbing against each other which always acts in the opposite direction of motion
What is the normal contact Force
The force which is when a surface exerts to an object when in contact with each other.
What Is Tension
A force acting on an object due to the change in shape (compression and extension)
What is Magnetism
A force on an object due to a magnetic field.
What Is Electrostatic?
A force on charged objects due to an electrostatic field.
What Is Buoyancy?
A force on an object due to the pressure of liquid.
What Is Newton’s Second Law?
Force = mass x acceleration(m/s squared)
Weight = mass x gravitational pull which on earth is 9.8 m/s squared
