Physics Flashcards
Scalar
(of a quantity) having only magnitude, not direction.
Vector
a quantity having direction as well as magnitude, especially as determining the position of one point in space relative to another.
Displacement
the action of moving something from its place or position.
Velocity
the speed of something in a given direction.
Distance-time graph
A distance-time graph shows how far an object has travelled in a given time
Current electricity
An electric current is the rate of flow of electric charge past a point or region
Static electricity
a stationary electric charge, typically produced by friction, which causes sparks or crackling or the attraction of dust or hair.
Charged particles
A charged particle, also called an ion, is an atom with a positive or negative charge.
Conductors
a material or device that conducts or transmits heat or electricity, especially when regarded in terms of its capacity to do this.
