physics 4 Flashcards
what is density equation
m=pV
p=density
m=mass
v=volume
difference between particles
solid=all lined up and cant move
liquid=all mushed up together while moving
gas=flying all over the place
what is the difference between a physical and chemical change
physical change can be easily reversible and they regain their original properties
chemical change=they are much harder to reverse and do not go back to their original properties
what is a boiling point and melting point
the boiling point is the temperature above which a substance is a gas and below which it is a liquid
the melting point is the point below which a substance is a solid and above which it is a liquid
what is internal energy
you can raise the internal energy of a substance through heating or forces
the differences between a internal and kinetic energy
internal energy is when you heat a substance the energy can go into 2 stores
kinetic energy is the temperature only goes up when the internal kinetic store is increasing
does the temperature change when something is changing state
no it does not change it stays the same
what is specific heat
specific heat tells you how much energy it takes to heat up an object
