Physical Science Flashcards
Radiation
Transfer of heat threw electromagnetic spectrums waves. EX: sun
Convection
The transfer of heat through gases or liquids
Conduction
Transfer of heat through touch
Physical Properties
Properties an object has that we can sense through are five senses
Physical changes
Changes to a physical property of an object. ( chocolate liquefying )
Chemical Properties
Properties that are only observable during a chemical reaction
Chemical Changes
Chemical reactions that change the object chemically
Average Speed
How far an object moves in a certain amount of time
Velocity
The speed and direction an object is moving
Friction
A force that occurs when two objects rub against one another
Newtons 1st object
When an object is at rest it stays at rest unless a force acts upon it. Same vice verca . Called inertia
Newtons 2nd law
When two forces acting against an object are balanced the object does not move. When the forces are unbalanced the object moves. The distance an object moves is based on the force and mass on the object. F=MxA law
Newtons 3rd law
For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Action reaction law
Force
A push or a pull
