as per the international physical literacy association definition and Canada’s physical literacy consensus statement there are
4 essential and inter-connected elements

- knowledge and understanding (cognitive)

refers to an individual’s enthusiasm for, enjoyment of, and self assurance in adopting PA as an integral part of life
physical competence (psychomotor)
refers to an individuals’ ability to develop movement skills and patterns, and the capacity to experience a variety of movement intensities and durations
knowledge and understanding (cognitive)
includes the ability to identify and express the essential qualities that influence movement, understand the health benefits of an active lifestyle, and appreciate the appropriate safety features associated with PA in a variety of settings and physical environments
engagement in physical activities for life (behavioural)
refers to an individual taking responsibility for physical literacy by freely choosing to be active on a regular basis

- more volumes you have in kinesthetic library- more movements body familiar with - the greater your ability to move safely and gracefully in sport, work, and life
- everytime we add a movement or something new to an old one we expand this library
