Test to determine whether eye produces enough tears to keep it moist; place small strip of filter paper inside the lower eyelid (inferior fornix), close eye for 5 minutes, paper is then removed. Nml is 15 mm, older is 10, path (Sjogrens Syndrome) is less than 5 mm
