The happy animal
Relaxed, alert, standing or sitting or lying down, ears up and forward.
The scared animal
Stiff stance, shaking or tremor from nervousness, avoid direct eye contact, laying of ears on the head or flat ears, their body is lower to the ground. May be submissive
The angry animal
Aggressive, stiff stance, bearing teeth, head lowered to the ground, staring, tail raised.
Territorial aggression
Refers to an animals protective nature of environment
Redirected aggression
Predator instinct where the animal turns it’s aggression behaviour or the owner
Negative impacts of stress
More likely to struggle, be aggressive. More likely to require more sedation, vet team more likely to be injured.
