Mucous membrane is pink this is
Normal
Mucous membrane is light pink this is
Normal in cats but abnormal in dogs
Mucous membrane is purple/white this is a sign of
Anemia, blood loss, low BP
Mucous membrane is purple/blue this is a sign of
Shock or other serious disease
Mucous membrane is yellow this is a sign of
Liver disease
Mucous membrane is bright cherry red this is a sign of

Lift the loose skin between he shoulder blades and watch it fall should be >1s
Valves of the heart and where to auscultate
Pulmonic valve, aortic valve, and mitral valve can be auscultated on the left between the 3rd and 6th ribs.
Tricuspid valve can be osculated from the right between the 4th and 5th ribs.
