Physical And Chemical Changes Flashcards
What are slow changes?
The changes that take longer time to complete are called slow changes. For ex:- rusting of iron, change of seasons, etc.
What are fast changes?
The changes that take place in a short interval of time are called fast changes. For ex:- bursting of crackers, lightning of an electric bulb, etc.
What are natural changes?
Some changes that take place in nature themselves are called natural changes. For ex:- change of day and night, growing of a tree, etc.
What are man-made changes?
Any change that occurs due to the efforts of human beings is called a man-made change. For ex:- cooking of food, jewellery from gold, etc.
What are periodic changes?
Changes th that are repeated at regular intervals of time and not randomly are called periodic changes. For ex:- change of day and night, change of seasons etc.
What are non-periodic changes?
Changes that are not repeated at regular intervals are called non periodic changes. For ex:- earthquakes, a person becoming sick, etc.
What are reversible changes?
When a change in a substance can be reversed by changing the conditions, it is said to be a reversible change. For ex:- water freezing into ice, etc.
What are irreversible changes?
If a substance cannot be brought back to its original state after a change, it is said to be an irreversible change. For ex:- burning of paper, cooking of food, etc.
What are the two broad classifications of changes?
Physical changes and chemical changes
