Physical And Chemical Flashcards
What is malleablity?
Ability to change form.
What is solubility?
Substance that can dissolve in a liquid.
Changes that do not result in the production of a new substance. They may only change the physical appearance not the chemical composition. If you melt ice you still have H2O at the end of the change. If you break a bottle, you still have glass. Remember, changes in states of matter are what?
Physical changes
Changes that result in the production of another (new) substance. When you burn a log in the fireplace, you’re carrying out a what reaction that releases carbon.
Chemical changes.
What is aluminums physical/ and chemical property?
Physical: solid, silver, malleablity.
Chemical: not flammable.
What are some evidences of a chemical reaction
New substance forms, bubbles/fizzing, change in temperature, color change, light is released, and change in odor.
What is ductility?
The ability to be put in a wire.
What is reactivity?
Two or more substances that can combine to form a new substance.
