Q

What are the principles of training?

A

Specificity - matching training to requirements of activity
Progressive overload - gradually increase amount of effort of overload so that fitness improves
Rest & recovery - the amount of time allocated to recovery and the time required to repair damage to body
Reversibility - any adaptation that occurs because of training is reversed due to lack of training
Individual needs - matching training to the needs of the individual
FITT - frequency, intensity , time, type = used to increase the amount of work the body does, in order to achieve overload
