Explaining x-rays
X-rays let us see things in between teeth, under fillings and inside teeth that we cannot see with our naked eye
Post amalgam filling…
Wait 6 hours to chew on that side, avoid hot foods and drinks on that Side while the anaesthetic is working, it will be sensitive for the next few days so take painkillers when necessary
Post composite filling…
The filling is set so you can eat on that side straight away, it’s not as strong as your natural tooth so avoid putting hard pressure on it like nuts or sweets as it will fracture. It’s around 20% the strength of a natural tooth so you’ll have to treat it as so.
Odontogenic pain what do you advise…
Paracetamol 500mg 2x4 times Or Ibuprofen 400mg 1x4 times Or Aspirin 300mg 2x4 times
Can take both but do ibuprofen 1st then paracetamol 2hrs after then ibuprofen 2hrs after
