• carbon dioxide combines to the 5C ribulose biphosphate
• immediately breaks down into two glycerate-3-phosphate
• ATP+reduced NADP convert glycerate-3-phosphate into triose phosphate
• the two triose phosphate combine to produce hexose sugars ( organic substances)
• a portion of the triose phosphates are regenerated to carbon dioxide

• light energy absorbed by PS1 boost electrons to another electron acceptor on high energy level
• electrons replaced in chlorophyll by hydrolysis of water
• loss of electrons from water= protons + oxygen
• protons from water and electrons from second acceptor reduce NADP
