mouth or nose.

sounds being made while breathing in

where speech sounds are shaped.
articulators
all parts of the vocal apparatus which are involved in speech production
tongue, the lips, and the lower jaw, upper teeth, the hard palate,

involving both lips to construct sound
Labio-dentals
involve only the lower lip and additionally the upper teeth

lips do not play a role in the production
These sounds are produced with the tongue immediately behind the upper front teeth or even protruding between upper and lower front teeth (o sound)
palato-alveolar
constriction is between the hard palate and the alveolar ridge, slightly further back than for alveolar sounds, (f sound)
