- fear of crowds, assemblies of people and open spaces
- the most common and most likely to occur in females in young adulthood

What are social phobias?
A
- Social anxiety disorders
- fear of doing something humiliating in front of others
- onset often during adolescence

What are Specific Phobias?
A
- fear of specific objects or situations such as illness disease or death.
- resistant, irrational, intense fear of particular object or event

What are the four types of Specific Phobias?
A
- Animal phobia: Spider, Dog, Snakes
- Natural environment phobias: darkness, storms, heights, water
- Situation Phobias: enclosed spaces, elevators, flying, dentists, driving, tunnels, bridges
- Blood Injections, Injury phobias: medical procedures, sight of blood, needles
