Deontology and Consequentialism
In Deontologists theory, the morally relevant features of actions is determined by what?
motives behind such
actions and whether or not such actions correspond to norms, rules, laws, maxims,
emphasis is on doing the right thing nt considering the impact of the action.

- Universalizability- the action must hold true for all persons and in all circumstances
- Categorical imperatives- certain duties must be done regardless of consequences.
- Humans are an end and not a means to an end (“Act in such a way that you always
treat humanity, whether in your own person or in the person of another, never simply as
a means but always at the same time as an end.
give 4 objections to the deontological theory?
- It’s too abstract.
- Consequences might morally matter.
- There can be a conflict of moral duties.
- It doesn’t seem to cover non-rational and/or non-autonomous people
- its inflexible, cannot not always be applied to real case scenarios
