Phase II Electricity and Magnetism Flashcards

1
Q

Matter

A

Has mass and occupies space. Based on temperature.

  • Solid - low temperature, atoms stick together.
  • Liquid - with added energy, atoms can move around but remain together.
  • Gas - with even more energy, atoms can disassociate from each other.
  • Plasma - high temperature, electrons will dispersed when released and emit EM radiation.

Q

Energy

A

Does NOT have any mass, does NOT occupy space, cannot be created nor destroyed. Capacity to cause change. Total energy = KE + PE
