Who is the Department Head of AIMD?

The MO is reponsible for everything that happens in AIMD
- Safety
- Accurate and timely maintenance
- Ensuring personnel are properly trained to do their job

What does AMO stand for?
Aircraft Maintenance Officer

Assisting the MO in the performance of his duties and to keep them fully informed of departmental matters

The MMCO is responsible to the MO for overall productive effort and material support of AIMD/Coordinates department workload, maintains liaison with supporting activities and the supply department

IM-1 is the Administrative Branch of AIMD

- Deals with leave requests and other personnel needs.
- Also has Departmental Career Counselor
- Maintenance administration that deals with log books for engines and data processing

To prevent the occurrence of defects
What is the purpose of the Quality Assurance work center?
Contains SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) from every rate in AIMD
- They conduct assurance inspections utilizing their QARs, CDQARs, and CDIs
What is the purpose of Production Control?
Monitors and “controls” the flow of production throughout AIMD using NALCOMIS
What is the purpose of MATCON?
Consists mainly of LSs’ that provide materials and logistic support to include supply tracking info and asset visibility
What is the IM-2 Division?
Aircraft Divsion
What is the purpose of the IM-2 Division?
Structural and propulsion repair branch of AIMD

- Airframes (A/F)
- Powerplants (P/P)
- Paraloft (LOFT)

Performs structural repair on the airframe of aircraft
Who works in Ariframes?
AMs (Aviation Structural Mechanics)
What is the purpose of the Powerplants division?
Performs repair on various models of aircraft engines and tests them using the Jet Engine Test Cell
Who works in Powerplants?
ADs (Aviation Machinist Mates)
What is the purpose of the Paraloft division?
Performs testing and repair of various aircrew life support equipment/They maintain the ALSS rotatable pool

Aviation Life Support System

They Test and Repair aircraft generators
- Maintains aircraft battery locker, where they test and charge various types of aircraft batteries

AEs (Aviation Electriciansmates)
What is the purpose of the Communications/Navigation/COMSEC shop?
Uses stand alone test sets “suitcase testers” to test and repair various communication radios and navigation radios
- Also deals with classified information and classified electronics
