What is Standard 1? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy Professionals must provide person-centred care
-involving the patient/shared decision making/ gain their understanding
What is Standard 2? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy professionals must work in partnership with others.
-How we can work along other health care professionals, not just focusing on own expertise.
What is Standard 3? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy professionals must communicate effectively.
-understanding different ways in which you can communicate with different people/adaptable/ flexible/terminology patient wont recognise.
What is Standard 4? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy professionals must maintain, develop and use their professional knowledge and skills.
-Ability to GPhC to check up on the professional/maintain and develop knowledge and skills such as being a independent prescribers.
What is Standard 5? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy professionals must use their professional judgement.
-patient is the main/first concern/ this could be action or even inaction/ de prescribing/ability to use evidence to understand what to do when there is conflicting evidence/ law and ethics
What is Standard 6? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy professionals must behave in a professional manner.
-Polite/considerate/ patient centred/ empathy and compassion
What is Standard 7? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy professionals must respect and maintain a persons confidentiality and privacy.
-entitled to privacy/ your responsibility to understand the need for confidentiality/ be aware of your own surroundings/appropriateness of the way in which you are communicating.
What is Standard 8? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy professionals must speak up when they have concerns or when things go wrong.
-identifying what is right and wrong by knowing what good practise looks like/ ethics/ law/ideas of professional judgement/understanding decisions and situations.
What is Standard 9? What does it mean/involve?
-Pharmacy professionals must demonstrate leadership.
-Acting in a way which will inspire others to do better, be better/ understanding context in which they are practising.
