Antagonist - drug binds to a receptor in the body to PREVENT a biological response
4 Enteral routes of administration?
Oral - swallowed
Sublingual - under tongue
Buccal - placed between gum and cheek
Rectal - inserted in the rectum
Pharmocokinetics vs pharmacodynamics
Pharmacokinetics - study of how the body handles/excretes the body over a period of time
Pharmacodynamics - Study of how drugs affect the body
