Q

How do you make equal parts of Tetracaine 1% and Dextrose 10% to make the solution hyperbaric?

A
  1. Need to use preservative free 50% dextrose bristojet
  2. Dilute 1mL of 50% dextrose with 4mL of sterile preservative free saline in 5ml syringe
  3. This gives you 5mL of 10% dextrose solution
  4. For 1.4 mL of Tetracaine add 1.4 mL of dextrose solution
